EHCP Team Manager - Statutory Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Service, Nottinghamshire County Council
Are you a strategic, values-driven leader with a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Nottinghamshire County Council's Statutory SEND Service is seeking a dynamic Team Manager to join our expanding and ambitious service.
Established in response to the SEND Reforms of 2014, our Statutory SEND Service brings together a range of statutory and regulated education and social care services to deliver a coordinated, child and young person-centred approach. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team within a service responsible for progressing Education Health Care Needs Assessments (EHCNA) and maintaining all Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) for children and young people with SEND.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a collaborative and resilient leader who thrives in a complex, multi-agency environment and is committed to continuous improvement. You will be:
A confident decision-maker with in-depth knowledge of SEND legislation, particularly the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice.
Experienced in managing teams and overseeing performance, quality assurance, and legal compliance.
A strategic thinker who can lead on countywide areas of specialism (e.g. tribunals, early years, digital innovation, commissioning).
Comfortable representing the Local Authority in tribunals, panels, and partnership forums.
Skilled in building and nurturing strong partnerships with families, education settings, health and social care professionals to strengthen relationships and ensure coordinated, person-centred support.
What We Offer
Nottinghamshire County Council has made a significant investment in its Statutory SEND Service. You'll be joining a supportive, innovative team at a pivotal time of growth and transformation.
Flexible, hybrid working arrangements
28 days annual leave (rising to 33 after 5 years), plus bank holidays
Local Government Pension Scheme
Access to:
Westfield Health Scheme
Cycle Scheme
Car Lease Scheme
Discounts across major UK retailers
For an informal conversation about the role, please contact Louise Wright, Service Manager - Integrated Childrens Disability Service.
