Head of Procurement Milton Keynes Hybrid working meaning two days in and three from home Permanent Full time 35 hours weekly £90,000pa - £100,000pa depending on experience Overall purpose of this role In this key position, you will develop and implement the Procurement Strategy and build the procurement function to provide best practice procurement-led services to the organisation. You will lead a team of procurement professionals to build stakeholder and supplier relationships working closely with governance teams, drive commercial negotiations and deliver value and transparency across our supplier chain. The Head of Procurement will be responsible for developing the procurement policies and processes ensuring procurement activities are conducted in a consistent manner. We are looking for someone who is commercially astute, demonstrates strong leadership abilities and is a subject matter expert in procurement with a vision to build a best practice procurement function. This role will ensure that ICAEW suppliers deliver quality and value aligning to our own values and commitments to our members. The Head of Procurement will provide expertise to the senior leadership team and wider organisation, manage and support the development of the procurement team with the aim to providing best procurement services and contribute to the success of ICAEW. The position will be responsible for standardising procurement activity across the business, drive continuous improvements and ensure our strategic suppliers are monitored and managed effectively by the procurement team in accordance with the contract and ICAEW Strategy. As we move to a centralised procurement model you will lead the development and embed our new centralised procurement function. Responsibilities include: Reviewing, formulating, implementing and monitoring the procurement policies to ensure adoption and control of procurement activities Take responsibility for the success of the newly formed procurement team and demonstrate the positive value which procurement can bring to ICAEW by delivering efficiencies on improved commercial terms, consolidation, cost avoidance, strategic planning, and process improvements Provide strategic expertise for high value, high risk procurements and Contracts Ensure that the procurement team manages the end-to-end procurement activities, mitigating risks and driving continuous improvement and deliver their responsibilities effectively. Take responsibility for providing MI to the senior leadership relating to suppliers including spend, savings, supplier performance, supplier risk, supplier ESG compliance and supplier contract lifecycle. Take responsibility to ensure that the procurement function "Know the suppliers", the services they provide and their product development strategy Candidate Profile Requirements include: Experienced Head of Procurement with strong Procurement Process design track record, legally competent and commercially astute. Strong influencing and leadership skills in all areas of management within the Procurement environment Results driven with a strong desire to develop and mature a best practice procurement function Strong strategic vision with operational excellence, ethical standards and long-term value delivery Procurement transformation experience including digital enablement, value creation, innovation and sustainability Excellent organisational, analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong communication abilities to engage stakeholders and suppliers at all levels Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Passionate about procurement, supplier governance and a desire to foster strong collaboration across legal, finance, data protection, info sec and operational teams Why work at ICAEW?
