About the Role
We’re seeking enthusiastic and reliable Seasonal Ecologists to assist with field surveys and reporting during the 2025 survey season. This position is ideal for graduates or early-career ecologists eager for hands-on experience within a supportive environment. You will collaborate with our ecology team on various survey types, including:
* Extended Phase 1 Habitat / UKHab surveys
* Bat activity and emergence/re-entry surveys
* Great crested newt surveys (eDNA and HSI assessments)
* Reptile, badger, and other protected species surveys
* Water vole and otter surveys
* Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and baseline reporting support
Candidate Requirements
* A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
* Some prior fieldwork experience (voluntary or paid)
* Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and early mornings
* A basic understanding of UK ecology and relevant legislation
* A full UK driving licence and access to a car (highly desirable)
* Desirable skills include CIEEM membership, familiarity with QGIS, experience with protected species survey techniques, and CSCS card or willingness to obtain one
