The Role
The Dean Trust seeks a talented and enthusiastic individual to support the Alternative Provision Manager in the daily operation and development of the school’s Inclusion provision. Responsibilities include coordinating targeted support programs, providing pastoral care through reviews and sessions, and reducing barriers to learning to support students' successful completion of their programs.
The postholder will foster strong relationships, maintain high expectations, and help students progress to further education, training, or employment. As an Alternative Provision Assistant, you will join a dedicated team committed to raising attainment and achievement.
We are looking for an individual who possesses:
* A good level of education, including GCSE Mathematics and English Language (A-C or equivalent)
* A recognised Level 3 or above learning and development qualification
* A level and/or degree qualification
* PGCE
* Experience working with disengaged and challenging children aged 11-16
* Experience in an educational setting and working 1:1 with children
* Experience coordinating behavior facilities and delivering alternative curricula (e.g., horticulture, hair and beauty, animal management)
* Proficiency with SIMS database and safeguarding knowledge
* Understanding of KS3 and KS4 curricula, relevant legislation, and procedures related to attendance and behavior
* Passion for making a difference in young people's lives
* Strong organizational, prioritization, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently, de-escalate challenging situations, and work effectively within a team
* Computer skills including Excel, Outlook, Word, and database use
* Mentoring skills
