Development Engineer

What You’ll Be Doing
New Product Introduction (NPI)
* Acting as the key link between R&D and manufacturing to ensure smooth product transition into production.
* Defining and communicating production requirements to optimise manufacturing processes.
* Driving continuous improvement using Lean, 3P, DFM, and DFA methodologies.
* Supporting the NPI Lead and deputising when required.
Special Customer Solutions (SCS)
* Developing bespoke technical solutions based on customer requirements.
* Integrating third‑party components, assemblies, and custom software into standard products.
* Conducting testing, qualification, and regulatory checks ahead of shipment.
* Producing technical documentation to capture design intent and enable knowledge transfer.
* Supporting MCAD (SolidWorks) and ECAD (Altium) design tasks.
* Collaborating with suppliers and partners to ensure high‑quality integration.
* Using SAP ERP to manage BOMs, part numbers, ECOs, and associated documentation.
What We’re Looking For
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, product development, and optimisation.
* Experience with CAD tools (MCAD & ECAD) and ERP systems (SAP preferred).
* Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to assess technical feasibility.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced R&D environment.
* Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally internationally.
