CapEx Tax Associates is a specialist tax and advisory firm, supporting a wide range of clients with complex tax and business matters. With a growing team of around 20 professionals, we combine technical expertise with a friendly, approachable culture. We're looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join us and help keep our financial records accurate, compliant, and well-organised as we continue to grow.
The Role
This is a hands-on bookkeeping role, suited to someone with proven experience in an SME environment. Reporting directly to senior management, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting internal reporting, and ensuring our day-to-day accounts run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate financial records in Xero
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments
* Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other ledgers
* Support the preparation of VAT returns and liaise with HMRC when needed
* Prepare monthly management reports for senior leadership
* Assist with payroll processing (in coordination with our external providers, if applicable)
* Track and manage employee expenses and supplier accounts
* Support year-end processes and liaise with accountants/auditors as required
About You
* At least 5 years' bookkeeping experience, ideally within an SME environment
* Strong working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
* Attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and manage priorities across multiple deadlines
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative, professional approach
* Relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification (AAT, ICB, or equivalent) desirable
