Role: Residential Deputy Manager- Children’s Home
Contract: Full Time, permanent
Salary: Base salary of £31,105.28 with the potential to earn up to £34,362.56 with sleep-in shifts.
Location: Carlisle
Specific Hours: 42 hours per week - shift pattern on rotation
North Lakes Children’s Services is a well-established local provider of therapeutic residential care and education for boys aged 6-18. We aim to improve the resilience, self-esteem, and abilities of all the young people we work with.

Main Duties
* Ensure the Statement of Purpose is in place, reflects the needs of young people, and outlines staff qualifications, experience, and expertise.
* Develop effective communication strategies for the team to ensure smooth flow of information.
* Manage and develop quality services for young people, ensuring policies and procedures are implemented.
* Identify and meet staff training and development needs, assisting in training staff as required.
* Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations according to company policies.
* Regularly inspect the building’s condition to ensure safety and proper maintenance.
* Manage budgets, control expenditure, and maintain accurate records.
* Promote and implement Equality and Diversity policies and Child Protection Procedures.
* Set, monitor, and evaluate standards of service quality and team performance.
* Establish and manage effective team communication systems.
* Ensure high standards of professional practice and continuous improvement.
* Provide leadership and vision to staff, ensuring effective workload management and adherence to policies.
* Manage designated budgets to ensure value for money.
* Supervise and appraise staff, following company procedures.
* Promote equality and diversity within the organization.
* Maintain confidentiality of personal and sensitive information.
* Oversee induction programs for new staff, including CWDC 2-day courses.
All Applicants Must Have:
* An understanding of issues faced by young people in care.
* Relevant qualifications such as Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
* Excellent communication and listening skills.
* Willingness to learn and work as part of a small team.
* Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check (paid for by us).
* Experience with EBD, social/residential work, or youth work is advantageous.
* A full, clean UK driving license and flexibility to cover other residential homes as needed.
* Sleep-in allowance of £62.64 per night, with potential earnings up to £3,257.28.
* Shift rotation of 2 days on, 2 days off, with staggered start times (8am, 12noon, 2pm).
