FM Conway Ltd is seeking an experienced Asphalt Plant Manager for its Erith Asphalt Plant. Reporting to the Business Manager, the manager will oversee the operations and continuous improvement of the asphalt plant and wharf, utilising excellent people management, commercial and operational skills to ensure profitability, efficiency and health and safety are prioritised and delivered at all times. This is a full-time, permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and motivating the operational team to achieve excellence and continual improvement
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, as well as quality standards
* Creating, managing, and maintaining the site improvement plan
* Collating KPIs and demonstrating continuous improvement
* Managing stock levels of fuel, constituents, and raw materials
* Ensuring mixing plans are carried out in an effective and cost‑effective manner
* Ensuring all staff are suitably trained and developed to perform their duties safely and effectively
* Ensuring any critical issues are highlighted, including timely and accurate incident reporting
Skills & Experience
We are looking for a strong leader with experience in the asphalt or manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate has excellent health and safety awareness, is commercially aware, and improvement focused. Familiarity with Microsoft Office packages is essential, as is a full UK driving licence. A NEBOSH or IOSH qualification is desirable but not essential.
