Sue Ross Recruitment are working on behalf of our client, a highly respected IT services provider, to recruit an IT Technician for a full-time, permanent position in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and customer-focused technology company that delivers tailored IT solutions to a diverse client base. The successful candidate will play a key role as the first point of contact for technical support, providing hands-on troubleshooting and on-site assistance while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Key Responsibilities for the IT Technician role: • Act as the first point of contact for client IT support requests via phone and email. • Install, configure, and maintain software, hardware, and network systems. • Diagnose and resolve technical issues across Windows, Mac OS, and server environments. • Repair and replace faulty components to ensure minimal downtime. • Manage cybersecurity measures, including antivirus and firewall installations. • Provide technical guidance to help improve solutions and customer satisfaction. • Maintain and update technical documentation. • Test and deploy new hardware and software prior to rollout. • Support clients with broadband, leased line, FTTC, and FTTP connections. • Complete internal administrative tasks including quotes, purchase orders, and job sheets. • Log work clearly for ISO and accountability purposes. Candidate Requirements for the IT Technician role: • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (site visits required). • Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Windows/Mac OS systems. • Experience with Hyper-V or other virtualisation solutions. • Knowledge of networking, routers, and WAN configurations including fibre leased lines. • Proficient with Microsoft 365 and Azure (hybrid and cloud-based environments). • Experience with VoIP systems, DNS, and domain hosting. • Working knowledge of Cisco and Ubiquiti product configuration. • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Desirable: • Experience with CCTV configuration and data cabling (Cat6/Fibre). • Microsoft or professional IT certifications.
