Overview
So many people want to join us to work as a Porter, we want the very best. As a porter, you play an invaluable role supporting the day to day running of our hospital. You will help directly with supporting patients moving to different parts of the hospital, often when they are at their most vulnerable. You\u0027re reassuring and friendly demeanour can really make a difference to the patient experience.
It is not simply transporting patients between different wards and departments; it also includes a variety of duties such as sample collection, the transportation of linen, removal of domestic and clinical waste, postal services, security duties and driving duties. It\u0027s a busy and active role that is extremely satisfying and fulfilling. We are a 24/7, 365 days a year service, completing up to 15,000 tasks a month. You will join a dedicated and professional portering team that works hard together to deliver an efficient service we are extremely proud of.

You will be responsible for supporting patient transfers, carrying out all general portering duties, occasional ad hoc driving requests and assisting with security issues as required.
Responsibilities
* Support patient transfers and provide general portering duties across wards and departments.
* Carry out ad hoc driving requests as required.
* Assist with security issues as needed.
* Collect samples and transport linen, waste, and other items in a timely and safe manner.
* Provide postal services and support to wards and departments.
* Ensure dignity and safety for patients during transfers and movements.

* Be flexible in approach and able to use initiative to plan workload and resolve problems.
