Job Description:

Background

FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a capacity exceeding one million barrels per day, serving the North Sea's central area.

Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS, which transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore points, processes at Kinneil, and delivers to customers including Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and gas products at Grangemouth.

Job Purpose

* Provide front-line Instrument/Control Engineering support to the site operations team.
* Deliver engineering modifications primarily in Instrument/Control disciplines.
* Contribute technical input to the Projects team.
* Own relevant Unity Performance Standards.
* Promote Ineos 20 Principles and 7 Life Saving Rules among colleagues and vendors.
* Specify, scope, and implement improvements to instrument and protective systems.
* Serve as the asset instrument and protective systems engineering focal point for projects and studies.
* Act as the single point of accountability for Instrument and Protective Systems (SPA) for the site.
* Lead initiatives to improve plant reliability, equipment strategy, defect elimination, and rationalization.
* Define and manage the asset’s spares strategy for Instrument and Protective Systems.
* Lead safety reviews, risk assessments, and investigations related to instrumentation and protective systems.
* Maintain asset and protective systems integrity.
* Manage maintenance strategies and support maintenance activities, including fault investigation and breakdown support.
* Coordinate vendor support as needed.
* Maintain key engineering documentation, ensuring it is current.
* Support asset management activities, including MOCs and TARs.
* Develop electrical practices and procedures in collaboration with the technical authority.
* Coach technicians to enhance their skills and competencies.

Special Features

* Participation in incident management and asset self-audit programs.
* Travel to offshore platforms or remote sites for technical support.
* Support during outages.

Qualifications and Technical Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

* Degree in Instrument Engineering or equivalent.
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
* BOSIET, Medical, and MIST certifications for offshore travel.
* Over 5 years’ experience in Oil & Gas, Refining, or Chemical industries.

Job-Specific Skills:

* Experience with legacy instrument equipment, control systems, and ESD systems.

Job Knowledge and Skills:

* Understanding of UK regulatory standards (Safety Case, COMAH) and industry standards, including subsea and onshore pipeline operations.
