The Opportunity
An innovative and fast-growing consultancy within the medical technology space is looking for a Human Factors Consultant to join its expanding Bristol-based team of Human Factors Consultants.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 1-4 years' relevant experience who is eager to develop their career in human factors and usability engineering. You'll play a hands-on role in delivering impactful projects that directly influence the safety and effectiveness of medical devices, while benefiting from structured support, mentorship, and clear progression pathways.
The Role
Human Factors Consultant
Support the planning, execution, and reporting of formative and summative usability studies
Develop study protocols, discussion guides, and supporting documentation
Moderate usability testing sessions with users in line with study requirements
Conduct task analyses and contribute to use-related risk assessments
Collect, analyse, and interpret qualitative and quantitative research data
Identify use errors, root causes, and trends to inform design improvements
Produce high-quality technical reports and client-ready deliverables
Create engaging presentations and support delivery of findings to clients
Apply best practices in research ethics, consent, and data privacy
Contribute to the successful delivery of multiple projects within timelines and budgets
Manage your own workload effectively across concurrent assignments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders
Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements and industry standards
Team & Development

About You
Degree (or higher) in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, or a related field
1-4 years of relevant industry experience (medical devices or regulated environments preferred)
Understanding of the product development lifecycle
Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
Ability to interpret and communicate complex data clearly
Confident written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational and time management abilities
A proactive mindset with a desire to learn, grow, and progress your career
Willingness to travel when required
