Our client in Aylesbury is seeking a Quality Inspector to work in the Quality and Assurance Department, to join them on a Permanent basis. 4 day working week - Either: Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an industry leading engineering firm in the Motorsport, Automotive and Aerospace sector, our client is seeking an individual with an interest in developing skills in production and engineering. As a Quality Inspector, the purpose of this role is to carry out inspection of precision engineered components. using a multitude of techniques and equipment. Duties and responsibilities: * Carry out inspection and testing of materials and components using a variety of processes and techniques in accordance with job card instructions, drawings, specifications and relevant quality procedures. * Interpret component drawings, CAD models and test procedures to correctly identify product requirements, tolerances and special process requirements. * Operate and maintain Bridge CMMs (PC-DMIS) and portable metrology systems including Faro and Romer Arms, executing measurement routines and verifying components to 2D and 3D data. * Perform 3D scanning and point-cloud analysis using PolyWorks, producing dimensional reports and deviation maps where required. * Generate inspection reports and non-conformance reports in accordance with company quality procedures. • Accurately record all inspection and testing activities within the Tricorn system. * Identify jigs and components using laser marking as specified in job card instructions. * Handle materials carefully and comply with health and safety requirements to prevent damage or injury. * Complete work in line with required schedules to support production flow and on-time delivery. * Liaise with internal departments, suppliers and customers to support the resolution of quality-related issues. * Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing development of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System. * Carry out part marking and identification activities as required. Essential Skills and Knowledge: * Demonstrable experience using inspection equipment and tools, including CMMs, Faro/Romer Arms, 3D scanners, shadowgraph, verniers and micrometers. * Strong working knowledge of GD&T and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and CAD models. * Proven experience operating Bridge CMMs and portable metrology equipment in a production environment. * Practical experience in CMM operation and/or programming using PC-DMIS and/or 3D scanning using PolyWorks. * Good written communication skills with the ability to produce clear inspection and non-conformance reports.
