As the Trainee Health, Safety and Environment (SHE) Advisor you will support our Health and Safety department whilst learning on the job. You will ideally have previous experience in a health and safety environment, recently graduated with a degree in Health and Safety Management, or studying towards a NEBOSH qualification. The role of Trainee Health, Safety and Environment (SHE) Advisor will require you to be both office and site based on a day-to-day bases with frequent travel to our developments within a given Region. Key Responsibilities To promote and execute the values of Miller Homes and the Miller Difference Gain understanding the requirement for Construction Design and Management Regulations Gain understanding the requirement for health and safety management systems. Identify risks and hazards associated with the construction industry (Traffic management, fire, working at height, excavation and plant safety, etc). Support and assist in the implementation of SHE inspections and monitoring systems demonstrating the balance between enforcement and internal support. Identify hazards, advise upon and coordinate risk reduction opportunities. Support with the undertaking of risk assessment with the site management teams and trade managers/supervisors. Support with the development and review of construction phase plans [and supplementary plans etc] review, Carry out departmental SHE inductions for new starters Monitor changes of legislation regarding H&S, occupational health, CDM and anything else that could affect the H&S performance of the sites Support the development of health and safety briefing and presentation Assist with investigation of accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and other incidents as directed.
