Job title: Power Platform Engineer Location / ways of working: Home-based (UK) with travel to Chelmsford HQ 1-2 days per month Purpose of the role: Provide resilience and cover for the existing SharePoint/Power Platform capability while super-charging the design, build and deployment of current and new Power Apps, Automations, Databases, SharePoint lists and AI-enabled services across the business. Key responsibilities: Design & build advanced Canvas and Model-driven apps that are code-driven, performant and user-centric and easily scalable. Develop and maintain complex Power Automate flows, integrating seamlessly with Power Apps. Work inside Power Platform Solutions and apply healthy ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) using Power Platform Build Tools. Integrate external data & services via custom connectors / REST APIs; enforce robust authentication and security best practice. Model, normalise and optimise data in Dataverse, SQL Server/Azure SQL and SharePoint. Embed AI capabilities (e.g. generative prompts, AI Builder, Copilot) into apps and flows, prototype and demo new use-cases. Contribute to platform governance, documentation and knowledge-share with wider stakeholders. Proactively identify opportunities to automate, streamline and add business value; own delivery from concept to production. Experience Essential: 4 years hands-on building Canvas and/or Model-driven Power Apps. 4 years producing medium-to-complex Power Automate flows. Proven record of creating code-driven Canvas Apps (complex formulas, components, galleries, collections, JSON manipulation, etc). Implemented and maintained Power App Solutions and used Power Platform Build Tools for CI/CD. Designed normalised data schemas across Dataverse, SQL (on-prem/Azure) and SharePoint Lists. Built or consumed REST APIs / custom connectors. Demonstrated use of AI prompts / AI Builder / Copilot within business apps. Strong requirements-gathering skills with non-technical stakeholders. Desirable: Dynamics 365 CE integration experience. Exposure to Azure (Functions, Logic Apps, Azure DevOps Pipelines). Power BI report-building to surface Dataverse/SharePoint data. Experience administering the Power Platform (Power Platform Admin Center, environment strategy, DLP policies). ITIL v3/v4 Foundation. Built custom GPTs or comparable generative-AI assets. Technical skills Essential: Advanced Power Fx, formula-driven UI logic, component libraries. T-SQL, Dataverse tables & relationships, security roles. API authentication (OAuth 2.0, Azure AD). Standard Microsoft 365 toolset (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, Visio). Desirable: Familiar with modern DevOps practices: solution branching, managed/unmanaged solutions, automated deployments. C# or JavaScript/TypeScript for extending Dataverse or Azure Functions. Unit testing frameworks. Qualifications / certs Essential: Microsoft PL-400 or PL-100 (or equivalent experience). Desirable: PL-600 (Architect) or Dynamics 365 certifications.
