JOB TITLE: Senior Credit Analyst - SME Credit Decisioning Team
SALARY: £43,803 - £53,537
HOURS: Full time
LOCATION(S): Leeds, Birmingham or Edinburgh
WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office location
An exciting opportunity has arisen for three Senior Credit Analysts in the SME Credit Decisioning team within the Chief Credit Office to support the delivery of a Commercial Real Estate (CRE) strategy!
Our Credit Risk team are accountable for automated and assisted credit decision strategies for the Group's £19bn Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) customers. We use analytics to optimise and improve our strategies and lend safely to our customers. We support the business to deliver safe and sustainable growth.

Job Description
What you’ll be doing:
You'll be responsible for developing analysis and monitoring that supports our strategic vision for data led CRE Credit Strategies. These strategies are critical in supporting business growth whilst ensuring we continue to lend to customers responsibly, as well supporting our customers and mitigate the ongoing risk of lending.
You'll build your experience and knowledge in all things SME, form strong relationships across multiple areas of the Bank and contribute more broadly to the Business & Commercial Banking Credit Strategy & Insights team goals.
What you’ll need:
* Experienced analytical problem solver– strongly evidence the ability to work creatively and accurately with complex data to derive clear insights and answer business questions.
* Analytical coding expertise– practical experience of using analytical software for coding, such as SAS or SQL, to deliver actionable insight. You’ll also be confident using Microsoft Office.
* Credit Risk –you’ll have a good understanding and practical experience managing credit risk using automated strategies and scorecards.
* Effective communication- Builds positive relationships with people across the Group and able to clearly explain complex issues and insights to different audiences, both verbally and non-verbally.
* Growth mindset - Proactive, resourceful, collaborative, build/maintain resilience in the face of changing priorities.
And any experience of this would be really useful:
* Strong numerate skills and qualifications (either A-Level or Degree).
* Experience of PowerBI
* Experience with Risk & Control, e.g. RCSA.
* Experience in both personal and business lending.
