Responsibilities
* Ensure all engineering duties are completed and that the engineering team under your control performs their tasks as required.
* Produce RAMS, temporary works briefs, ITPs, weekly progress and planning updates, NCRs, TQs and Early Warnings.
* Lead low‑complexity or short‑duration projects such as pre‑construction site investigation and survey activities and enabling works.
* Accountable for SHE performance at site level, supporting the Site Agent.
* Maintain quality performance at site level with regard to workmanship and documentation standards.
* Ensure accuracy of engineering controls and manage the site engineering team.
* Manage the supply chain during construction: progress review, coordination and a 360° review and feedback.
* Produce, review and monitor construction methodology documentation including RAMS and ITPs to ensure compliance with the company’s quality management system and employers’ requirements.
* Prepare as‑built documentation from site.
* Forecast, procure and reconcile materials.
* Collate site data for inclusion in Daily Progress Reports.
* Ensure the project team follows information‑management procedures and requirements.
* Conduct buildability reviews of design information.
* Implement the Inspection and Test Plan for your section of the works.
* Manage Requests for Information (RFIs).
* Keep accurate records—diaries, photographs, marked‑up drawings, etc.—and ensure the engineering team does the same.
* Ensure construction drawings are available and checked at least two weeks prior to implementation.
* Implement the quality management system where it affects daily activities.
* Support the implementation of quality policies and the Quality Ripple initiative.
* Champion best practice, including new and advancing technology.
* Assist in the management of the SMP and be aware of responsibilities within it.
* Manage safe systems of works and quality management.
* Show excellent IT knowledge, including use of AutoCAD and Microsoft suite.
Qualifications
* Degree, HNC or equivalent in civil engineering desirable.
* 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience.
* Good communication skills with client representatives, the site team and operatives.
* Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion.
* Full driving licence.
