Role Description
We are seeking a Weddings and Social Event Executive for a full-time, on-site role located in Ware, Hertfordshire. The position is part of the sales and events team who are responsible for reactive group sales, attached or not to weddings and events. The successful candidate must have impeccable attention-to-detail, exceptional organisation skills and a passion for the industry. This role will have direct client interaction and admin duties. This role will be required to work every other Saturday and occasional evenings.
Qualifications
* Previous experience within hotel industry preferred
* Experience in weddings and events, Opera booking system, SalesForce and specifically in dealing with groups/catering and delegations are highly desirable
* Goal driven; commitment towards achieving hotel and teams goals
* Ability to adapt - maintains performance level under pressure or when experiencing changes/challenges in the workplace
* Passion for sales; can effectively upsell products and services (bring a sale to closure!)
* Confident, positive and proactive attitude and mindset
* Strong customer development and relationship management skills
* Good time management
Education
* Strong level of English, written and verbal is essential
* High school diploma or GED; experienced (1-2 years of experience) in the reservations/event booking centre or related professional area
Job Requirements
* Make pre and post event call to organisers (relationship management)
* Manage customer budgets to maximise revenue and meet customer needs
* Liaise with revenue team to ensure rooms strategy is implemented appropriately
* Understand product offering, including event spaces, room types/layouts, capacities, and menus
* Conduct site visits, including walk-in appointments
* Ensure all diary entries are up-to-date with booking status
* Ensure forecasted event and group revenue is up-to-date at all times
* Build group bookings in all systems involved
