Corporate Accountant(RP0033)Starting salary £50,696pa with potential progression to £53,953pa on achieving designated skills and experience37 hours per week (Hybrid working)The Borough of Welwyn Hatfield has entered an exciting new era following the appointment of a brand-new senior management team.We are looking for inspiring new people to bring new and innovative ideas to build a better future for everyone – including you!We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated finance professional toreview and improve existing financial controls, lead on budget setting, the production of the statement of accounts, and provide financial advice You will be a fully qualified or part qualified accountant actively studying towards full qualification.In this critical role, you will be responsible for co-ordinating the annual budget setting process, as well as co-ordinating and contributing to the preparation of the council's annual statement of accounts. You will work closely with the Finance Business Partner Team and Financial Processes Team to monitor and improve existing financial processes and controls, complete key government returns and provide advice and support on capital accounting. Your strong technical knowledge will enable you to interpret and advise on the application of relevant legislation, accounting standards, financial regulations and internal processes and procedures and undertake financial analysis and modelling to support the Council's decision-making process.You will need to be comfortable liaising with and advising officers at all levels across the organisation.We are committed to flexible working and achieving a good work-life balance with a mix of office and homeworking available.
