Kajima Partnerships is a leading PFI/PPP investor and asset manager specialising in health, education and civic public sector assets. Together with Kajima Properties Europe, and Kajima Community, they promote the meantime use of underused civic and public facilities, forming the core of the Kajima Corporation’s business in the UK and Europe.

We currently have a vacancy for a PFI General Manager to join our Asset Operations team at Kajima Partnerships Ltd.

The role suits an astute, people-focused candidate with enjoyment of team working and problem solving in complex environments. Our Asset Managers sit on the SPV board as statutory directors, requiring excellent attention to detail and report writing skills, confidence in sharing and presenting information. The role is home-based with some travel to asset sites, ideally in the Nottingham/Leicester/Peterborough area.

Main responsibilities include:

1. Ensuring Kajima Partnerships Limited meets its obligations under its Management Services Agreement, addressing any non-compliance.
2. Ensuring delivery and compliance with all obligations of the Project Agreement, Project finance documents, and related contracts.
3. Maintaining a thorough understanding of the Project Agreement, schedules, and sub-contracts.
4. Effective liaison with the Board and Funders as per contractual requirements.
5. Managing Board meetings and records with the Company Secretary.
6. Managing the commercial and financial aspects of projects.
7. Operational management of projects.
8. Service performance management.
9. Serving as a board director for the Project Co., handling its responsibilities.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

1. Proven experience with complex Project Agreements in PFI or similar environments.
2. Understanding of PFI funding and contractual structures.
3. Ability to manage relationships with stakeholders, including Boards, funders, subcontractors, and public sector bodies.
4. Experience with performance monitoring for FM services.
5. Working with detailed legal and contractual documents ensuring compliance.
6. Providing risk management advice and guidance.
7. Implementing systems to manage contractual compliance.
8. Analyzing information for risk assessment.
9. Managing disputes to minimize project risk.
10. Applying value-for-money principles throughout the project lifecycle.
11. Reporting key information promptly and effectively.
12. Leadership and team management skills.
13. Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities.
14. Building strong stakeholder relationships.
15. Commitment to continuous professional development.
