We have an exciting opportunity to join a brand-new Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home in Hinckley, Leicestershire, as a Waking Night Residential Children & Young Peoples Worker on a full-time, permanent basis.
About the Role This beautifully designed home provides short-term placements for children and young people aged 8-18, offering a safe and supportive environment while their needs are fully assessed and understood. With space for up to three residents, the home gives young people opportunities to build friendships, gain confidence, and develop independence and emotional resilience.
Key Responsibilities As a Waking Night Worker, you will:
Build trusting and nurturing relationships that promote each young persons independence and well-being.
Work in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals.
Contribute to the upkeep of the home, including light domestic tasks.
Record observations and maintain accurate documentation.
Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
Promote a safe, calm, and positive overnight environment.
What Were Looking For To be successful in this role, youll need:
A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or the willingness to complete this qualification within the required timeframe.
Experience working with children and young people in a residential or similar setting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and bank holidays as part of a rota.
Commitment to attending daytime training, supervision, and consultation sessions (with advance notice).
Pay & Reward This post includes a Night Shift Premium Allowance (calculated at one-third of your hourly rate) in recognition of unsociable hours. Starting salaries are typically offered between the minimum and midpoint of the pay band, allowing for clear career progression through performance and development.

About the Service This role forms part of a countywide network of innovative residential homes delivering high-quality support for children and young people across Leicestershire. While your main base will be Hinckley, you may occasionally be required to travel to nearby homes to support other teams as needed.
