A client within the Public Sector based in the South West is currently recruiting for a Waste Management Contract Lead to join their Waste Management and Compliance team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a waste management or environmental services environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to lead the delivery and management of the Council’s waste treatment and disposal functions, ensuring statutory and environmental compliance, managing multi-million-pound external contracts, and supporting the council’s environmental aims and objectives. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Full line management of a specialist team responsible for contract management, compliance, and commissioning. • Day-to-day management of waste treatment and disposal contracts with a combined annual value exceeding £25m, including MRF, landfill, composting, EfW, and HRC arrangements. • Acting as Deputy Authorised Representative for the council in relation to waste management contracts, ensuring financial validation and approval of spend. • Leading on environmental compliance, ensuring adherence to legislation and corporate policies. • Reviewing new waste legislation and implementing necessary service changes. • Managing relat...
