Purpose of Role
To help identify and prepare items of higher value or specialist interest ("hidden gems") from donations for sale through our online retail platforms (e.g. Vinted, eBay, Facebook Marketplace). This role directly supports fundraising by maximising the value of quality donations.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
* Stock Identification
* Sort through donated stock to identify items suitable for online sale (e.g. designer clothing, vintage pieces, collectibles, branded goods).
* Research approximate resale value of items using online platforms and pricing guides.
* Product Preparation
* Clean, steam, or prepare items to a high standard for photography.
* Write clear, accurate and engaging product descriptions (training provided).
* Online Sales Support
* Photograph items attractively for online listings.
* Assist with uploading items to online platforms.
* Monitor online interest in items and flag any queries to the Shop Manager.
* General Support
* Keep the online stock area tidy and organised.
* Work with the shop team to ensure unsold online stock is rotated to the shop floor where appropriate.
* Support the charity's ethos of sustainability, recycling and community benefit.
Skills & Qualities Needed
* Interest in fashion, retail, or collectibles (desirable but not essential).
* An "eye" for spotting quality or unusual items.
* Basic IT skills for research and online use.
* Reliable, honest and able to follow shop guidelines.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
