What you’ll be doing
as the Quantity Surveyor – Major Projects
1. Providing commercial advice on Major Capital Projects across our operational sites in London and the Thames Valley.
2. Managing projects from inception to completion.
3. Attending sites to meet contractors and to monitor the progress of works.
4. Carrying out tendering analysis and evaluations.
5. Variation assessment and negotiations.
6. Project final accounting.
7. Supporting the dispute resolution process.
8. Providing advice on contractual claims.
9. Managing the assessment and certification of monthly Applications for Payments. (AFP)
Location - This is a hybrid role, and the base location can be flexible across our Thames Valley sites.
Salary - £43,005 to £58,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Hours - 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:
10. Hold a BSc, HND or equivalent in a Quantity Surveying or construction-related subject.
11. Demonstrate experience in managing operational contracts. (either a large-scale, high-value contract or a portfolio of contracts)
12. A strong technical understanding of commercial and contract management.
13. Negotiation and dispute resolution experience.
14. Have exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
15. Ability to deliver information and influence internal & external stakeholders at all levels.
16. Hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have your own transport.
17. Strong MS Office skills, ability to work to deadlines and highly organised.
Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring:
18. Previous water or utilities experience
19. Ideally Chartered RICS – but support is available to achieve this.
