We are seeking an experienced, organised, and proactive School Business Manager (SBM) to join a busy primary school in Birmingham, starting ASAP. As the School Business Manager, you will oversee the school’s financial management, staffing, administrative systems, and operational policies. You will work closely with the Headteacher and leadership team to support strategic decision-making and ensure the school runs smoothly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the school’s financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
* Manage payroll, invoicing, and financial records in line with school policies
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including safeguarding, health and safety, and GDPR
* Lead the administrative team, providing guidance and support for daily operations
* Monitor and manage school resources, including procurement and contracts
* Support HR processes, including staff recruitment, contracts, and performance management
* Contribute to school strategic planning and reporting to governors
* Maintain effective communication with staff, parents, suppliers, and external agencies
* Ensure the smooth running of the school site, including premises and facilities management
* Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative working environment
