Product Manager
£39, - £44, per annum (pro rata)
Full Time/Permanent - 37 hrs per week - Hybrid Working with a min of 2 days per week on Campus
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Product Manager to oversee a portfolio of Software applications within NTU's Corporate Applications team - part of NTU's Digital Technologies department. Our goal is to deliver digital solutions that align with our strategic objectives and improve the experience for both students and staff. The Corporate Applications team is essential in managing and optimising our corporate systems to support the University's goals.
You will work strategically with Business Owners, NTU Digital Technologies colleagues and Vendors to ensure all applications are optimised for NTU’s needs. The Product Team deliver key strategic software application strategies via product roadmaps, driving both large-scale projects and a programme of continuous improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage product lifecycles and lead a programme of continuous improvement through product roadmapping.
2. Build and nurture relationships with vendors, owners, key users, and technical teams in line with NTU's Vendor Management strategy, to understand product capabilities and provide options for continuous delivery to all stakeholders.
3. Gain a detailed business and technical understanding of the variety of products within your portfolio, including their deployment at NTU and their role in the NTU experience.
4. Manage identified risks within your portfolio in collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
5. Maintain an awareness of the wider HE technology landscape, new developments and products via horizon scanning, vendor reviews and market research.
6. Uphold NTU's Digital Technologies' strong HE reputation by attending internal stakeholder meetings and external vendor meetings and events.
7. Play an active role in the Application procurement & renewal process with existing and new vendors, to ensure NTU maximise both value and services.
Requirements:
8. Professional curiosity about software applications, capabilities and opportunities, ideally within the Higher Education sector.
9. Good understanding of product lifecycle management and roadmapping.
10. Ability to identify, prioritise and resolve both new and ongoing challenges in a digital environment.
11. Demonstrate experience of negotiation skills with a commercial awareness.
12. Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
13. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
14. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
15. Current or previous experience as a Product Manager or within a Product Team environment.
