This position involves supporting the BBC News Scheduling & Planning team by creating and managing transmission schedules for BBC television News channels. Responsibilities include processing programme data, liaising with various teams, preparing schedules, resolving scheduling issues, maintaining relationships with data and media suppliers, and supporting the scheduling process to ensure accurate transmission.
Main Responsibilities
1. Process and verify programme and junction data for transmission schedules, ensuring accuracy.
2. Serve as a first point of contact for the Playout Planning Unit.
3. Identify and resolve scheduling issues, escalating when necessary.
4. Coordinate with Marketing and Programme teams to organize continuity records.
5. Prepare and update forward schedules, adjusting as needed.
6. Maintain good relationships with data/media suppliers and internal teams.
7. Manage the impact of schedule changes on transmission and billing.
8. Provide administrative support to the Playout Programme Planner.
9. Develop and maintain efficient administration systems.
10. Ensure compliance with policies and editorial guidelines.
11. Build effective relationships with scheduling teams and support their challenges.
Candidate Requirements
* Understanding of transmission schedule structures and related systems.
* Experience in Media Planning or Presentation Planning is advantageous.
* Knowledge of scheduling processes and IT skills, including Office applications and broadcast scheduling systems.
* Attention to detail and data accuracy.
* Interest in live news programming and current affairs.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
The role is based in London, offering a hybrid working model, with a salary range of £25,400 - £30,550 plus London Weighting. It is a 5-month fixed-term contract with opportunities for career progression and training.
