The Client
A privately owned company located in Worcestershire established over 50 years ago and one of the UK’s leading manufacturers in their field. This client is enjoying continued growth and is increasing their head count with the appointment of an experienced Design Engineer.
The Role
As Design Engineer you will report to the Design Manager and use the companies CAD packages extensively – AutoCAD and SolidWorks, you will be competent in design and development and able to produce drawings and models of both existing and new products. This post will also include building and testing new designs and prototypes as projects require. You will, on occasion, be involved in supporting the sales team by doing CAD work to fulfil orders and visit client / customer site to ensure you have full knowledge of the expectations of the client. The Design Engineer will work on new designs, project work and non-project based developmental work depending on current requirements.
The Candidate
The successful applicant for the role of Design Engineer will be creative, able to develop design specifications and sign off / review designs for manufacture. You will have experience in a similar role and be capable of specifying testing requirements and creation of statement of objectives for required testing outcomes. You will be hands on and build small prototype designs within the production facility, be capable of small maintenance and service on the product and you will document all test and prototype results in Microsoft office software – word and excel. Using CAD you may produce presentations to support the sales team. This is a day role working 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday and the chance to join a small team who are dedicated to the continual growth and development of the business.
