As a Senior Pricing Analyst, you will manage Saga’s street pricing to support the delivery of the insurance strategy, customer outcomes, and contribution to the overall P&L for Saga Services (SSL).
We seek an experienced pricing expert with a proven track record of developing innovative solutions to enhance Saga Services' pricing capabilities and support trading performance. Experience in personal lines, especially in one of our core products: Motor, Home, Travel, or Private Medical, is essential.
You will understand the drivers of best-in-class street pricing and commercial success in a Personal Lines insurance business and implement innovative approaches to generate value. You will collaborate closely with Pricing Managers to develop and implement complex solutions for continuous improvement.
Additionally, you will work with the wider business to leverage your pricing expertise in supporting key aspects of the Group’s strategy and shareholder objectives.
We offer flexible working arrangements, allowing you to choose a comfortable and productive environment, either from home or in our London or Folkestone hubs. The Pricing & Projects team meets twice a month, typically in London.
Role Responsibilities
As a Senior Pricing Analyst, your responsibilities include proactively analyzing data to identify opportunities that drive commercial value and competitive advantage, ensuring profitable growth for Saga’s insurance business.
Other key responsibilities include:
* Model, interpret, and monitor business data for market trends, product opportunities, and rating factors.
* Provide thought leadership in insurance pricing and data analysis.
* Support strategic projects as a subject matter expert.
* Assist in developing pricing models for deployment using Radar and other tools.
* Make data-driven recommendations.
* Extract insights using advanced techniques, including machine learning.
* Monitor post-implementation impacts and recommend adjustments.
* Build strong relationships with underwriters and collaborate on initiatives to enhance group value.
* Support pricing aspects of business change initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with pricing fairness and data policies.
* Represent the pricing department in business change programs.
* Support testing of IT-related pricing changes.
* Contribute to the learning and development of team analysts.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience in personal lines insurance is essential, preferably within Motor, Home, Travel, or Private Medical.
Additional industry knowledge includes:
* Deep understanding of general insurance pricing processes and methodologies.
* Strong numerical and statistical skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Influencing and relationship management abilities.
* Leadership skills to motivate and develop team members.
* Proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
* Knowledge of modeling software like Radar, Emblem, or similar.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, R, or Python.
* Understanding of regulatory requirements related to pricing.
