Overview
Be among the first 25 applicants. We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse to work within community services in the borough of Merton for South West London and St George’s NHS Trust, within the Community Recovery Support Team.
The post offers a chance to work as an integrated member of a dedicated community team, supporting adults experiencing mental health issues. Our community services focus on recovery-oriented, time-limited interventions to help individuals maintain their lives with limited intervention, understand and develop strategies to manage symptoms, and establish personal recovery action plans in partnership with the team.
Successful applicants will work as part of a Multidisciplinary Team. You will hold a designated caseload and work generically as a care coordinator alongside Nursing functions.
The Trust supports ongoing learning through nursing forums, continuing research, supervision, annual appraisals and a robust in-service training/educational programme.
Applicants should have experience in a mental health setting post-qualification; ideally within a community mental health team. You will need to be flexible, energetic and have a positive attitude with the ability to work autonomously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate with individuals using a creative/problem-solving approach are essential. Commitment to MDT working and partnership working, and establishing networks with Recovery College and a variety of voluntary, statutory and independent agencies, is expected.
We are Proud to Belong at South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust. The Care Quality Commission already rates our services as “good”; we aspire to be “outstanding”. We are transforming the way we care for our communities to support our mission of Making Life Better Together. We have built two brand-new mental health facilities at Springfield University Hospital, with further developments planned across our sites and services. We are inclusive and diverse and strive to be actively anti-racist, welcoming people from all backgrounds. We co-produce and involve our local communities in all that we do. We offer flexible working, career development and a variety of benefits to enable a positive, welcoming environment for our people and their careers to thrive.
