Main duties of the job

The transfusion department must have full traceability of all blood products that come in to the department and the ATP will have responsibility for supporting the laboratory with this task.
The post holder will assist in the delivery of transfusion training and competency assessments and the development of guidelines and policies.
Transfusion incidents need full investigation and documentation including Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventive Actions and the post holder will be trained to support the TPs in these processes and the ongoing reporting externally.
