Mechanical Assembler Stable Temp to Perm, Immediate start Location: Buntingford Rate Guide: £14.00 per hour, Overtime at £21.00 per hour, time and a half This is a 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday. Rotating Early and Late shift We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Assembler to join a busy production team. Initially, the role will be on the early shift, working from 7:30am to 4:00pm. A late shift of 1:00pm to 10:00pm will be introduced shortly, after which you will be required to work both shifts on a rotating basis. A shift premium is paid after 4.00pm when working on the late shift Key responsibilities: Accurately assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies to specification. Read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions and bills of materials. Use hand tools, power tools and basic measuring equipment. Carry out quality checks and ensure components meet tolerance and finish requirements. Identify and report non-conformances and work with the team to implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate assembly records and complete paperwork as required. Follow health & safety procedures and maintain an orderly work area. Requirements: Previous experience as a mechanical assembler or in a similar manufacturing/assembly role. Strong mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity. Ability to read basic engineering drawings and follow written instructions. Reliable, punctual and able to work the both the early and late shift Comfortable standing for prolonged periods and performing light to moderate lifting. Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
