PA required in Rothwell (LS26) for a 12‑year‑old boy to access social activities
A Personal Assistant (P.A.) is required in the Leeds area (Rothwell) to support a young boy aged 12 who has a diagnosis of autism, social and communication difficulties, sensory processing, a knee problem (affecting mobility) and ADHD, in accessing local community activities.
He requires support with personal care needs, dietary planning, personal hygiene, appropriate clothing, emotional regulation, and assistance with social activities. He enjoys gaming, music, dim lights, local parks, short walks, the cinema and the gym, and is interested in trying skiing. He needs close supervision due to a tendency to run off, potential challenging behaviours, and a lack of sense of danger and road safety.
The role provides 6 hours a week during term time and 8 hours during school holidays, worked flexibly on weekday evenings but mainly required to work on Saturdays. Working days can be flexible, but punctuality and stability are essential.
Experience working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (S.E.N.) is essential, including knowledge of SEN strategies in thinking, understanding and learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties, speech, language and communication, sensory and/or physical difficulties.
