Job Summary
We are seeking to appoint an Inpatient Consultant Psychiatrist post within Adult Mental Health Services, based in Doncaster. This post would complete our substantive recruitment in our acute directorate and join a strong group of substantive Consultants across the Mental Health and Learning Disability Care Group. The Trust provides a comprehensive adult, child, older adult, learning disability, and community forensic mental health services to Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire.
The team is keen to welcome applicants with a progressive approach to MDT working, to provide senior medical input to patient care for adults of working age in our Acute Care Pathway. Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register for Adult Psychiatry or a trainee within 6 months of completing their CCT and be approved for Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status. They should have evidence of good communication skills and a commitment to multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working.
This is a whole‑time appointment with the opportunity to modify to part‑time or job share.
Main Duties
The post holder will be a leading member of the well‑established multi‑disciplinary team providing Consultant input into the Adult Inpatient Team. We operate a full MDT approach, with strong clinical leadership. The Consultant will work closely with Consultant colleagues in other teams, with a flexible timetable designed to respond to needs of patients, carers and the team.
Ideally suited to those with an interest in service development and/or medical education and training.
This would be an ideal post for a new Consultant with a supportive peer group on offer and plenty of opportunity to grow and develop special interests in post.

Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
* Full registration with the GMC.
* Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Adult Psychiatry or a trainee within six months of completing their CCT.
* Approved S12(2).
* Approved Clinician status or eligibility to hold this.
Qualifications (Desirable)
* Previous inpatient experience.
* Other postgraduate management, education or clinical qualification.
Experience (Essential)
* Experience within General Adult psychiatry.
* Experience of psychiatric practice in a range of settings.
* Experience of General Adult in‑patient psychiatry.
* Experience of audit and an understanding of the principles of clinical governance.
Skills and Knowledge (Essential)
* Knowledge of research processes.
* Committed to Continuing Professional Development.
* Clinical supervision experience/skills.
* Aptitude to develop a leadership role within the service with special emphasis on quality and clinical standards and engaging in service improvement.

Salary and Contract
£109,725 to £145,478 a year + 30% RRP over 3 years. Permanent contract, full‑time, flexible working.
