This role is Assessor/Trainer on apprenticeship programmes.

Location: City Wide

Working Hours: Various - Monday to Friday with occasional evening or weekend work, depending on the demands of the employer/employee (Hybrid)

Contract Type: Part-Time/ Full time/Permanent

Closing Date: 23 November 2025

Closing time: 11.59pm

Interview Method: In Manchester, date to be confirmed

Qualification - Teaching/Training Occupational competence qualifications.

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). We have multiple opportunities for Apprenticeship Assessor and Trainers across a range of occupational areas. You will play a crucial role in planning, delivering, and assessing apprenticeship standards.

Senior Health Care Support Worker (Level 3) / Health Care Support Worker (Level 2)

About the Candidate

Key responsibilities include:

1. Leading on apprenticeship standard
2. Developing and delivering high-quality training and assessment
3. Providing mentorship and guidance to apprentices
4. Collaborating with employers to ensure apprentices succeed
5. Maintaining accurate learner records and assessment documentation
6. To be successful in this role, you will possess:
7. A deep understanding of relevant apprenticeship standards
8. Proven experience in teaching or training within your industry
9. Strong assessment and feedback skills
10. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities

As an Apprenticeship Tutor/Assessor you should:

11. Hold a teaching/training qualification (essential)
12. Hold a degree and/or a Vocational related qualification in the subject area (essential)
13. Hold GCSE A* - C / 9 - 4 in English and maths or equivalent (essential)
14. Have experience of apprenticeships (essential)
15. Hold Assessors qualifications (desirable) or willingness to achieve within 6 months
16. Prior knowledge and experience of apprenticeships, a teaching qualification and subject competency is required.

You should be able to demonstrate:

17. Knowledge of the Apprenticeship process, including mentoring and working with employers
18. Knowledge of e-portfolios and End Point assessments
19. Professional and academic competence/qualifications to teach on the qualifications.
20. Experience of adopting a range of teaching and learning strategies
21. Use of e-learning platforms such as Equal, google classroom and others or the willingness to learn

Key Accountabilities:

22. To deliver teaching and learning to at least a consistently good or outstanding standard
23. To assess accurately learners work, both formative and summative, against appropriate apprenticeship standards to ensure learners achieve their qualifications.
24. To support learners to meet the apprenticeship standards through portfolio evidence and assessing in the workplace, including maintaining candidate records, performing work-based observations and providing supportive feedback.
25. To support learners and employers in meetings to ensure timely completion or work and high standards are met at all times
26. To conduct skill interviews with learner and employers to identify gaps
27. To teach online lessons (where appropriate) as well as teaching in our centres across the city as needed, this may involve the occasional evening class
28. To take course leadership responsibilities
29. To take part in team meetings and working groups
30. To comply with the services quality assurance procedures
31. To comply with the services policies and procedures
32. To take personal and professional responsibility for keeping up to-date in the subject area.
