Project Controls Manager
📍 Newcastle upon Tyne
🕒 12‑month contract | Outside IR35

* EPC experience on multidisciplinary projects
* Experience working for a Tier 1 contractor
The Role
A leading Tier 1 EPC contractor is seeking a Project Controls Manager to support major energy and infrastructure programmes. The role sits within a large-scale delivery environment and involves end‑to‑end ownership of project controls strategy across cost, schedule, and performance.
You will:
* Work closely with Project Planners, Cost Controllers, and Project Teams to define and implement a Project Controls strategy
* Supervise and review all project planning, scheduling, cost estimating, and cost analysis activities
* Identify impacts and support recovery plan development
* Direct and manage the preparation and presentation of integrated cost and programme status reports and forecasts
* Develop, execute, and manage all elements of the Project Controls plan
* Oversee quantitative progress measurement and performance tracking
* Prepare consolidated reports for senior leadership, highlighting risks, issues, and recommended corrective actions
What You Bring
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or Project Management
* Professional Project Management certification (desirable)
* Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (desirable)
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Advanced Primavera P6 experience (MS Project knowledge beneficial)
* Sound understanding of cost control and basic financial frameworks
* Contract and claims management knowledge (desirable)
* Excellent English communication skills
