Job Description Management Accountant – Permanent– based in Leighton Buzzard, LU7 Job Purpose: To take ownership of delivering core finance services—including management accounts, bookkeeping, and month-end processes—for a small portfolio of clients. This role plays a vital part in helping clients streamline their financial operations through the adoption of digital tools and optimised processes. The successful candidate will bring strong management accounting experience, an eye for insightful reporting, and a keen interest in systems and technology. As part of a collaborative team, you will also support strategic finance work, and grow your exposure to year-end accounting and tax. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Implement robust month-end processes for our clients including balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany transactions, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets management. Managing a portfolio of limited companies – you will be responsible for full monthly management accounts preparation and bookkeeping. Provide additional reporting and analysis such as cash flow, or one-off support that our clients will find beneficial. Oversee and review work completed by our clients’ internal bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations and provide feedback and support. Attend meetings with customer’s including board meetings, supporting with projects, and providing general finance and business advice as required. Proactively recommend and implement improvements to client systems and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Contribute to the firm’s growth by using social media, networking, and promoting the business. Person Specification: AAT Level 4 Qualified. ACCA/ACA/CIMA Qualified or Part Qualified preferred. Minimum of GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent). Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all staff levels. Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Advanced Excel – VLOOKUP’s, pivots and sumifs required. Experience: 3 Years Experience in a similar finance role. Industry experience and/or month end and management accounts exposure is desirable. Strong systems skills – Proficient in using accounting software including Xero, Dext. Ideally some supervisory or managerial experience. Hours of Work: Monday – Friday (9.00 am – 5.30 pm) Work Location: Based in the Leighton Buzzard office with option to work from home on a Wednesday (after initial induction period).
