Offer description

Location: Bromley

Hours: Full-time or part-time (flexible)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated individual to take responsibility for the servicing and repair of our ultrasound machines. This position does not require prior experience with ultrasound technology; the core focus is on organising the service pipeline and computer and electronic repair, including diagnosing faults, working with Windows operating systems, and handling electronic circuit boards.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining accurate service records, updating our CRM system, and supporting compliance with ISO certification requirements. The role requires independent problem-solving, as you will often liaise directly with manufacturers and suppliers to resolve technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

* Diagnose and repair ultrasound systems, including hardware, circuit boards, and Windows operating systems
* Maintain service records and update the CRM system accurately
* Create and manage support tickets
* Draft and maintain processes to support ISO certification compliance
* Order parts with a high level of accuracy
* Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers, and manufacturers by telephone and email. This includes troubleshooting with customers, many of whom might not have the technical knowledge that you do
* Research and resolve technical issues independently
* Help with setting up for ultrasound training days, which we run around 6x per year
* In time, answer basic customer questions (e.g. "how do I export my scans from my machine?").

Essential Skills & Experience

* Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and computer hardware repair
* Experience working with electronics and circuit boards
* High level of computer literacy (CRM systems, documentation, ticketing systems)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills
* Patience and professionalism when dealing with suppliers across time zones and language barriers

Desirable Skills (for full-time applicants)

We welcome applications from candidates who can bring additional skills to the business. These may include:

* Programming or web development
* Customer service (handling calls, supporting sales)
* General IT support
* Interest in creating new products and services, and designing and offering service contracts to clients
* Video creation or editing (we make a lot of 'how to' or field testing videos)

What We Offer

We are an award-winning, growing business, making a real difference to the lives of humans and animals around the world. Manta rays in the Maldives, hedgehogs in Surrey, dairy goats in the United States, human beings in low-resource settings and conflict zones around the world: there's always a new way that our technology can help solve an important problem. By keeping our and our clients' equipment up and running, you will play an absolutely vital role the in the continued growth of the business.

It is vital that you understand this is a senior position within our business: there will be nobody above or (at the moment) below you on the service side. You ARE the service department. You need to be creative and a go-getter, as there will be nobody micromanaging you and telling you what to do all the time. You are expected to be operating at a managerial level and taking full responsibility for your work, which will make a huge difference to the company.

We offer:

* Flexible working hours (full-time or part-time)
* An opportunity to shape the role and contribute to a specialist business
* A supportive working environment where lifelong learning is encouraged and new ideas are welcomed
