Offer description

Relocate to Auckland, New Zealand - an opportunity for returning or future kiwis!

About Lane Neave:

Lane Neave is a full-service, internationally recognised law firm with four offices across Aotearoa, New Zealand. At Lane Neave we tap into more than 150 years of experience and provide our hugely talented legal experts with the opportunity to make the complex simple for our clients.

The Role:

Experience a rewarding and balanced career with us at Lane Neave as we expand our Auckland team! We are seeking a Senior Corporate Lawyer (M&A, Private Equity, Funds) to join our leading corporate team in Auckland. This opportunity is ideal for senior-level solicitors at a Senior Associate or Special Counsel level specialising in large-scale corporate and commercial transactions, private equity, capital raising, and funds law.

Work with well-respected, internationally recognised Partners in a highly performing and collegial Corporate Law team with national and international reach. Gain exposure to a variety of complex work and a diversity of clients.

In this position, you will:

* Undertake large-scale transactions on behalf of clients across mergers & acquisitions, business sales & restructures, joint ventures, capital raising, investment funds, and commercial contracts.
* Actively develop your knowledge around investment regulations and the FMA; maintaining relationships and involvement across the financial services industry as a whole.
* Lead conversations with a variety of domestic & international legal clients, working collaboratively with practice partners and junior solicitors to deliver outstanding results.
* Build relationships across a diverse range of high-profile and SME clients - even incorporating some great local start-ups.
* Identify, develop & execute marketing strategies for business development & commercial opportunity.
* Prepare high quality articles, newsletters & presentations/seminars as an industry expert.
* Behave in a way that supports our cultural values and help drive our strategic goals.

You will also have the benefit of building close working relationships with our 160 staff through the wider firm, where a culture of shared knowledge, development and mentoring is openly encouraged.

About You:

As a senior lawyer, you’ll have 7+ years’ post qualification experience with exposure to various facets of Corporate & Commercial law, having built a high level of technical expertise to lead high-value commercial transactions and work with prestigious domestic and international clients.

We’re looking for a legal professional with deep expertise in mergers & acquisitions, investment funds, financial services law, and capital markets. You will be passionate about complex deal-making and want to grow your career in a nationally recognised firm under the steady mentorship of our practice partners.

You’ll have a strong ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate with others internally and externally, with a collaborative mindset and a passion for mentoring and providing technical guidance to juniors. You’ll be the kind of person who has a positive impact on team and firm wide culture.

If you think you are a close fit to the above, but are slightly short in the experience required, we still encourage you to reach out and explore the opportunity with us.

Please note, although a current New Zealand Law Society practising certificate will be beneficial to your application, LLB qualified candidates from relevant jurisdictions will be considered as well.

Why Lane Neave?
