Your new role As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will provide essential support to the finance team during a busy transition period. Your responsibilities will span both operational finance and month‑end reporting, giving you broad exposure across the function.Key areas of focus will include: Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts through accurate postings, reconciliations and review work. Assisting with BAU processes such as payment runs, purchase invoice processing, VAT returns and maintaining supplier and ledger accuracy. Managing the finance inbox, responding to customer invoice queries promptly and professionally. Raising and issuing customer invoices, ensuring payments are received and allocated correctly through bank reconciliation activity. Supporting the implementation of a new finance system, including user testing, data validation and process walkthroughs. Maintaining strong attention to detail and robust controls across all finance processes to protect data integrity. This is a hand‑on role ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem‑solving and working within a busy, engaged finance team.What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you will bring: Experience in a finance operations or assistant management accounting position. Confidence running payment runs, processing invoices, raising sales invoices and working with reconciliations. Strong attention to detail, with the capability to spot errors, discrepancies and missing approvals. A proactive, service‑focused approach when communicating with both internal colleagues and external customers. The ability to adapt to new systems, learn quickly and remain calm under time pressure. Strong Excel skills and the ability to work comfortably with exported data and structured templates. AAT qualification or part‑qualified CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent experience).
