What is a Project Manager-Emergency Planning?
Under general supervision, the Project Manager is part of a team that is responsible for the emergency planning activities that are required to maintain and execute Central Hudson’s gas and electric emergency plans. The Project Manager is also responsible for developing, implementing, and/or administering projects for the Emergency Management team.
What does a Project Manager-Emergency Planning do?
8. Administers, and/or executes the emergency planning tasks that are incorporated in Central Hudson's gas and electric emergency response plans prior to, during, and after any type of man-made or naturally occurring emergent evert
9. Develops or modifies emergency plans and procedures that are included in the plans
10. Develops and facilitates various emergency exercises
11. Develops after action reports and improvement plans for exercises and track improvement items to completion.
12. Works with other departments to ensure that the content and administration of required emergency training is current, completed and executed in a timely manner.
13. Equips employees with the proper tools and material to execute their storm responsibilities
14. Coordinates with other departments to secure and administer contracts necessary to execute emergency plans
15. Generates invoices for mutual assistance provided to other utilities.
16. Represents Central Hudson with vendors, other utilities, and other emergency response agencies prior to, and during, emergency events
17. Prepares, or provides information for, written messages, statements, reports, and other documentation to alert our employees and other stakeholders of predicted events or to document emergency restoration efforts that have occurred
18. As a member of the Emergency Response team, accept roles as required during gas and/or electric emergency preparation and response. Be available outside of normal working hours to support the emergency response needs.

What does it take to be a Project Manager-Emergency Planning?
Required:
20. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Emergency Management, STEM, or related field. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an associate’s degree in Engineering, Emergency Management, STEM, or related field and 3 years of experience in Emergency Management. In lieu of an associates degree, a high school diploma and 5 years of work experience in Emergency Management
21. Experience leading projects
22. Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with both internal and external stakeholders
23. Strong attention to detail while working in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment is required
24. Strong computer skills, including a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products
25. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills are required
26. Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
27. 5 years experience in Emergency Management
28. Understanding of the FEMA ICS and HSEEP
29. Gas and/or electric utility operation knowledge
30. Project management experience
