The Role The school is seeking an experienced and strategic School Business Manager (SBM) to oversee the operational management of the school. The School Business Manager will work closely with the Headteacher and senior leadership team to ensure that financial, administrative and operational systems are managed effectively. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing finance, human resources, premises management and administrative services. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the strategic development of the school while ensuring daily operations run efficiently. Key Responsibilities Managing the school’s financial planning and budgeting Overseeing administrative and operational systems Managing HR processes including recruitment and staff contracts Supervising finance and administration staff Monitoring expenditure and financial performance Overseeing premises management and health and safety procedures Supporting procurement and supplier management Providing financial and operational reports to senior leaders and governors Person Specification The successful candidate will demonstrate: Strong leadership and management experience Knowledge of financial planning and budgeting Excellent organisational and strategic thinking skills Strong communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple operational areas effectively Experience in school business management or operational leadership would be highly advantageous.
