Job Description
Western National Insurance requires a Junior Business Analyst to work in the IT solutions team. This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders and vendors, engaging in hands-on analysis, and a true passion for translating business requirements to workable IT solutions.
Responsibilities: Translate Business Needs to IT Solutions
* Work with stakeholders (Business and Vendors) to identify business needs, analyze processes, and document requirements for new or existing initiatives
Gathering and documenting requirements:
* Collecting and recording business needs, user stories, and functional specifications. Converting business needs into clear and concise technical specifications for development teams.
Analysing business processes:
* Mapping current processes (as-is) with the Engineers and identifying areas for improvement or automation (to-be).
Process modelling:
* Creating visual representations of business processes using tools like Microsoft Visio or Draw io.
Communication and collaboration:
* Effectively communicating with stakeholders, both business and technical, throughout the project lifecycle.
Testing and validation:
* Assisting in the development of test plans and validating that the implemented solutions meet the defined requirements.
Supporting project management:
* Contributing to project planning, risk management, and other project-related activities.
Minimum requirements:
* Bachelors or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
* 2-3 years of experience in business analysis, understanding of business analysis methodologies, frameworks, and best practices and/or experience in dealing with IT platforms
* Business Analysis Certification
* Previous financial services sector experience is an added advantage
* Knowledge and experience with project management methodologies (Agile/Waterfall) to work with intricate, multifaceted projects.
