Job Title: Quality & Compliance Manager
Salary: £28,800 - £37,425
Location: Cambridge, UK/Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week working from the office
Contract: Permanent, Full time – 35 hours per week
We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Quality & Compliance Manager, where you will play a key role in protecting the reputation and validity of Cambridge English assessments globally.
We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.
About the role
The Quality & Compliance team are responsible for ensuring that our 1300+ exam centres across the globe operate effectively and within our regulations. We do this by providing clear instructions for centres, identifying, managing, and monitoring centres' non-compliance, safeguarding our products against cheating and responding to security incidents. We collaborate closely with global teams within Cambridge English to support our compliance functions and meet our regulatory obligations.
As a Quality & Compliance Manager, you will help define and communicate our standards and ensure they are upheld across our global network. You will have a particular focus on speaking test compliance, becoming a subject matter expert in this area while contributing to broader centre monitoring and improvement efforts.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Become an expert in speaking test delivery requirements, ensuring compliance across centres and supporting the integrity of our assessments.
* Monitor global compliance using performance data, identifying issues and working directly with centres to drive improvements.
* Make informed decisions on centre status and contribute to the approval process for new centres and products.
* Investigate and respond to compliance issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
* Act as a compliance advisor on cross-functional projects and product development initiatives.
About you
You will be confident in communicating in both writing and when presenting to groups. You will be able to manage competing priorities and stay calm under pressure.
Building strong relationships is essential — both with external partners and internal teams who rely on compliance support. You should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, with good proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems.
You will bring experience from working in an exam centre, the education or qualifications sector, or a compliance-related role. Experience in quality assurance, project work, or managing people or processes is also desirable.
You will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement. A flexible attitude and willingness to travel internationally, if needed, are also important.
