The Opportunity
We are re-opening one of the most well known Leisure Parks in the South West of England and need a Leisure Park Manager to join the team and play an integral part in the success of this project.
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Theme Park Manager to lead the operations of a vibrant, high-footfall leisure park in the Newton Abbot, Devon. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, ensuring ride safety and compliance, driving revenue growth, and managing a diverse team across rides and attractions.
The successful candidate will combine operational excellence with strong commercial awareness and a passion for creating memorable visitor experiences.
It's important to note that the role involves working a fixed pattern of Wednesday-Sunday each week, with Monday and Tuesday being days off. You will also be expected to work Bank Holidays during the Spring and Summer.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
* Oversee the daily operation of rides, attractions and entertainment.
* Ensure efficient park opening and closing procedures
* Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service
* Manage peak-season planning, staffing levels, and visitor flow
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Ensure full compliance with UK health & safety legislation and ride safety regulations
* Oversee ride inspection schedules and maintenance coordination
* Conduct risk assessments and lead safety audits
* Manage incident response procedures and reporting
Team Management & Development
* Recruit, train, and lead a team of part time staff
* Promote a positive, safety-first, guest-focused culture
* Conduct performance reviews and manage staff development
* Ensure adequate rota planning for seasonal demand
Guest Experience & Brand Reputation
* Champion exceptional customer service standards across the park
* Handle escalated guest concerns professionally and efficiently
* Develop initiatives to enhance visitor satisfaction and repeat attendance
* Support marketing campaigns, events, and promotional activities
Essential Requirements
* Proven management experience within a theme park, visitor attraction, leisure, or hospitality environment
* Experience managing multi-department teams in a high-footfall setting
* Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and KPIs
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations
* Flexibility to work weekends and during peak holiday periods
Desirable Qualifications
* First Aid certification
* Experience managing seasonal or large operational teams
