The role
We are looking for a NEBOSH-qualified Health & Safety Advisor to oversee a major, high-profile refurbishment and decommissioning project in Milton Keynes.
This is a dynamic, multi-contractor live site requiring an advisor who can seamlessly balance strict compliance with practical, on-the-ground leadership.
Key Responsibilities
As the H&S Advisor on site, you will be the driving force behind our safety culture, responsible for:
*
Site Leadership: Acting as the primary point of contact for health and safety, managing compliance across multiple sub-contractors on a live site.
*
Risk Management: Conducting thorough reviews of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure they are robust and fit for purpose.
*
Audits & Inspections: Carrying out regular, meticulous site inspections and audits, identifying potential hazards, and implementing corrective actions swiftly.
*
Engagement: Delivering engaging toolbox talks, safety inductions, and fostering a collaborative safety-first mindset among the workforce.
*
Investigations: Leading incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes, and producing detailed reports with actionable preventive measures.
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:
*
Qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum required), though a NEBOSH Construction Certificate is highly desirable.
*
Experience: Proven track record of providing H&S leadership on complex, live multi-contractor sites—ideally within refurbishment, demolition, or decommissioning phases.
*
Regulations: Deep, practical working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
*
Credentials: Valid CSCS card (appropriate level for an H&S professional).
*
Attributes: Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices constructively and work collaboratively with project managers and site crews.
