About The Role
We are currently seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team within the aviation sector. This pivotal role involves developing and executing comprehensive test scripts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products that meet customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with both manual and automated testing environments, with the ability to evaluate software functionalities critically and report discrepancies effectively. This role offers a hybrid working model, requiring three days per week in the Bournemouth office, providing a balance of collaborative and independent work.
The primary purpose of this role is to support the development and maintenance of testing procedures, documentation, and reports that uphold the company’s quality standards. The QA Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, customer service teams, and technical staff to ensure that all software solutions are rigorously tested and meet specified requirements. The role also involves analyzing warranty claims and software problem reports, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and assisting in defining functional and software requirements to enhance product quality.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a strong foundation in software testing, with relevant qualifications such as an ITSQB certification or equivalent. A minimum of three years of proven experience as a Software Tester is essential, demonstrating versatility across various application types including desktop, mobile, and web platforms. Familiarity with current testing methodologies such as Behaviour‑Driven Development (BDD) and experience with automation tools is highly desirable. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly across departments, and possess strong documentation skills to produce high-quality supporting materials.
Technical proficiency in tools and technologies such as Jenkins, Python, Selenium, and Playwright is required. Additionally, familiarity with Windows operating systems and a good understanding of software development and testing lifecycle processes are necessary. The ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining focus on project deadlines is critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain detailed test specifications and test scripts aligned with project requirements.
* Execute manual and automated tests, documenting results meticulously and ensuring traceability.
* Identify, report, and track software defects, collaborating with development teams to facilitate timely resolution.
* Prepare comprehensive test records and reports to communicate testing outcomes effectively.
* Contribute to the creation and maintenance of user documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
* Evaluate customer warranty claims and internal software problem reports, providing insights for quality improvements.
* Assist in defining functional and software requirements, supporting the development of test plans and strategies.
* Participate in review meetings, providing feedback on testing progress and software quality.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing testing processes and recommending enhancements.
