Collisdene Care Centre is situated in the beautiful South Lanarkshire town of Strathaven, set amongst landscaped gardens with open views of the surrounding countryside. Designed to provide person-centred support in small groups, Collisdene consists of three warm and welcoming houses.
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Maintenance to carry out day to day maintenance on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds in order to ensure that the Care Centre is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order.
Key Responsibilities
· General maintenance knowledge/experience e.g. minor electrical, plumbing, joinery
· Good communication skills
· Confident team player
· Clean driving licence
· Use of car or similar vehicle
· Willingness to receive training on current Health & Safety/Fire/EHO issues
· Satisfactory Policy Check and check against the PoVA list
· Ability to work on own initiative
Person Specification
Essential:
· An employee needs to understand their safeguarding responsibilities, develop their understanding and skills to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to adults who need care and support, and safeguard adults in a way that recognises their choice and control
· Ensure that all existing stocks are maintained in a safe and tidy environment and reorder as and when required
·Inform the Home Manager or Person in Charge of any visit to Care Centre by external maintenance staff. Record the visit in appropriate manner.
·Undertake driving duties if required by Home Manager or Person in Charge limiting trips to necessary mileage only i.e. frequent visits to GP should be reduced by planning
·Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties
·Notify the Home Manager or Person in Charge as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty and also on your return to work from all periods of absence
· Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Care Centre and The Company
· Ensure the security of the Care Centre is maintained at all times
· Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales
· Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained
· Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you
