Social Worker (Mental Health)
Location: Newmains Health Centre, Lanark
Hours: 35 per week, permanent
Salary / Hourly Rate: £42,228 - £48,633 per year
The post is required to assist with the CMHT to meet statutory requirements of the Local Authority. The role will involve managing high tariff cases under Mental Health Act 2003, civil and forensic cases, AWI, and Adult Support & Protection legislation.
The post will require an individual with a range of knowledge and skills to enable them to manage a complex caseload, working with adults and older people with complex mental health issues and young adults transitioning from child and adolescent services.
Responsibilities
* Complete new assessments of need and develop care plans encouraging service users’ participation, independence and self‑development.
* Work within a multidisciplinary team to achieve best outcomes for service users.
* Keep and maintain accurate records to inform others of clients’ current circumstances, emerging needs and support plans.
Qualifications and Experience
* Understanding of relevant legislation and how it can be applied to benefit client group.
* Experience of managing complex caseloads in mental health.
Background Checks
* Overseas criminal records check required for those born outside the UK or lived abroad >3 months in last 10 years.
* Applicants must provide evidence, translated into English, confirmed no pending criminal proceedings.
Legal Status
* Excepted in terms of Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 2003.
* Regulated Work with adults under Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Barred from working with adults not eligible.
* PVG scheme or update required prior to offer.
