Job Title: Technical Account Manager
Location: Widnes-based (Hybrid Working Available)

A well-established engineering business is looking to appoint a Technical Account Manager to manage and grow key customer relationships within the industrial automation sector. This is a commercially focused role suitable to someone who understands technical project environments and has a track record of building and expanding client accounts.
Responsibilities
Operating from our office in Widnes, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing ongoing customer relationships, supporting the quoting process alongside technical teams, and identifying opportunities for growth — including high-value projects (up to £1M).
* Manage and develop long-term relationships with existing clients
* Support the commercial side of technical project delivery
* Collaborate with technical managers on proposals, quotations, and client presentations
* Identify and nurture new business opportunities within established accounts
* Track and follow up on leads, tenders, and CRM activity
* Work with marketing and operations to support targeted campaigns and growth strategies
* Represent the business in client meetings, both on-site and remotely
* Previous experience in a customer-facing role within automation, control systems, or industrial engineering
* Strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in account growth
* Desirable - Previous hands on engineering experience in Automation, Control Systems or Industrial Engineering
* Comfortable managing high-value projects and navigating complex sales cycles
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
* Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently
* Familiarity with CRM systems and structured sales processes
* Background in electrical or control engineering
* Experience supporting technical teams or project managers in a sales/commercial capacity
